Firstly, I would like to start off by saying that ultimately the carrier is exactly what we needed for our little one. It’s highly adjustable, and has many thoughtful adjustments that can be used to make it very comfortable for my petite toddler. However, the experience with shipping and poor quality control were unacceptable. The shipping carrier told me three days in a row that my package would be coming - it didn’t, and I was left to wait at home all day so that I didn’t miss them. If you live in a rural area, I would highly suggest paying for a more reliable option than Dragonfly, which is used for the free shipping option.
Secondly, when my carrier did finally arrive, two loops for the head support were loose- one came off completely the first time I tried it out. After everything that happened with the shipping adding this issue on top was extremely frustrating. We were leaving on an international trip in just a few days, so although Christine did offer to take the carrier back to have it repaired, it wasn’t an option. She also offered to pay 25$ to take it to a seamstress locally - again, with our limited time frame, this was not an option. Frankly, a refund of 25$ doesn’t feel like it begins to scratch the surface of making things right after the everything that happened considering all the time, energy, and stress involved. Ultimately we were able to get a family member to reinforce the stitching so we could take it with us. Poor shipping experience aside, this is not something that we should have to worry about when purchasing a carrier at this price point.

I want to say that I am very aware of the stress you experienced while waiting for your carrier. Shipping is honestly one of the biggest sources of stress for me as a small business owner. When I send out a carrier, I am entrusting something precious — something parents are eagerly waiting for — to a delivery company that is ultimately outside of my direct control. That loss of control is difficult, especially when expectations are high and timelines are tight.
I do offer different shipping options: the free option is meant to help families save, but it does come with fewer guarantees, no signature requirement, and sometimes less reliable tracking. I also offer more secure and reliable services for an additional cost. I understand that many customers naturally choose the free option, and I completely respect that. Unfortunately, as in your case, it can sometimes lead to frustrating delays.
On top of that, the quality issue you experienced should not have happened. I had never seen that specific defect before, and I was deeply disappointed to learn it occurred with your carrier. That truly matters to me. Chimparoo is built on trust, and I take quality control very seriously. Since your message, I have reinforced internal checks to ensure this type of issue does not happen again.
I understand that the timing made my repair options difficult for you, especially with your international trip approaching. I’m grateful you were able to find a solution quickly, but I also recognize that it added unnecessary stress during an already busy time.

This carrier is the perfect halfway point between a structured carrier and something softer. The toggles on the side are really nice to have a few extra tying options! My 21lb ten-month old son is super comfy in it.

Confort inégalé! Un entre deux parfait entre l’écharpe tissée et le préformé: facile et rapide à mettre/ajuster. Rend le bébé léger comme tout sur soi. Confortable pour le dos et les épaules. Bébé toujours bien assis en M. Pour avoir essayé deux grandes marques de porte-bébé, c’est de loin celui que je préfère!
Je l'adore! Parfait pour les dodos collés, les courtes randonnés, tissus doux et confortable. Je viens d'acheter le AIR pour pouvoir l'utiliser autour de la piscine cet été (car je n'ai pas envie de mouiller le MAX) !

This is the same kind of carrier my husband was carried in as a baby, and it's still great. I have carried a lot of babies over the years and when tied right, the Mei Tai makes my baby feel weightless. No pain or discomfort of any kind. She has some freedom to move around and look at the world but still feels stable and secure. I can tell she's always comfortable, even after a long time in there.
After about a month one of the cords came unsewn, so I got in touch. Not only did they send me a return shipment label and fix it right away, they sent a handwritten note with it when they sent it back. I would 100% recommend this product and this company.

I like the grip of the fabric. It makes it easier to tie than some of the slippery fabrics of other brands of meh dai. I love the padded thigh area. Another popular brand of meh dai that I bought previously felt like it cut into my baby’s legs. On this meh dai the padded thigh area seems a lot more comfy for my baby. The padded shoulders also make a difference for me in comfort compared to more traditional unpadded shoulders.
I want to love it but I can’t get a proper fit :( and nowhere online can I find clear instructions with the half buckle on if I roll it once? At all? I think it’s Apron style but it’s unclear. The traditional meh dai I can find many videos but none with the buckle and I’ve tightened the slack but still can’t get a good fit. I wish chimparoo offered fit checks. Love the colour and idea of it but no clear instructions makes me guess each time and I’m losing faith that this is the carrier for me

I am super satisfied with this baby carrier. I was looking for something more supportive than a stretchy wrap but different from the Ergobaby I already have. This hybrid option is just perfect. It took me a bit of practise to get the hang of wrapping it and getting both sides equal, but now I'm really happy with it and find it my most comfortable carrier. Once my baby is bigger I'm excited to try all different wearing positions.

Je l'ai acheté pour mon 2e bébé. J'ai une très petite taille et mon autre porte-bébé (ergobaby) est toujours serré au max et il reste un petit peu de lousse. Le mei tai était donc une option hyper intéressante pour moi car il s'ajuste! Je regrette seulement de ne pas l'avoir eu pour mon 1er bébé! TELLEMENT confortable!

J'adore mon porte-bebe. Je l'ai utilise apres les echarpes flexibles quand bebe soutenait sa tete. Il a fait des siestes en portage. Rapide pour les sorties en voiture pour des petits achats. Les courtes randonnees. Il est facilement transportable dans le sac a� couche. Je suis de taille forte et je peux le nouer facilement. Un coup de coeur pour moi et bebe qui aime etre colle.
J'ai achete le Mei Tai max apres un echec avec les echarpes traditionnelles, mon tout petit a beaucoup trop la bougeotte pour accepter de prendre le temps de se faire installer normalement. Le Mei Tai est un parfait succes! Facile et rapide a� mettre et super confortable! Meme mon petit tannant devient un amour des que je l'installe! En plus le motif gingko est juste magnifique!!!
L'eharpe de portage m'intimide un peu, alors je cherchais quelque chose simple, mais tout de meme leger. Le Mei Tai correspond parfaitement au meilleur des deux mondes, utilisation facile et legerete. Il est facile a� trainer un peu partout et le nouage est vraiment simple a� maitriser. De plus, j'ai eu quelques soucis avec mon precedent achat et le service a juste ete incroyable. Un service apres vente hors pair et personnalise. On sent que Chimparoo a a� coeur la satisfaction des clients. Maman et bebe sommes comblees!
Le premier Mei tai max que j'avais commande s'est revele defectueux, mais Chimparoo a repondu a ce probleme avec un service a la clientele hors pair! Nous avons d'abord tentede le reparer, mais comme cela ne suffisait pas, j'ai pu echanger mon mei tai initial contre un autre en parfait etat. Reactivite, mode solution, rapidite, efficacite.
Et que dire du confort! Le porte-bebe que j'avais me donnait mal au dos, alors que le Mei Tai est tres confortable, tant pour moi que pour bebe.
J'adore mon mei tai, il est super confortable et tres simple à utiliser. Un bon compromis entre une echarpe et un porte bebe plus structure. Je l'apporte partout et je l'utilise autant avec ma grande de 2 ans que mon petit de 5 mois.
Oui, ses grandes bretelles en écharpe coussinées se déploient sur les épaules pour une répartition uniforme du poids, offrant un confort optimal pour le porteur. Sa simplicité, par sa structure tout en tissu, permet d’envelopper le bébé comme dans une écharpe et de le garder contre le corps avec le bassin soutenu et les genoux relevés. Cette bonne position rapproche le poids du bébé du corps du porteur, le rendant donc extrêmement confortable pour les deux!
